About Us

Hiro

Russell and Elisabeth welcome you to their home in the charming town of Navarrenx in the South West of France. The house was built in 1839, as a Maison de Maitre, and has been lovingly restored by us over a 12 year period. Originally from Australia and the UK, we cannot imagine ourselves living anywhere else now.

The Stories Podcast

Our family and friends have enjoyed staying in our home and we hope you will too.

Pets

We have two gentle giants – Pyrenean Mountain dogs (or Patous as they are known locally) called Hiro and Aiko. Both are very friendly but will bark on your arrival to let us know.

While we love dogs we appreciate that not everyone does. If you don’t, please let us know. It is very easy from us to keep them away from you during your stay.

We also have indoor cats called Maya, Bella and Nova. They live in our part of the house so you won’t see them. They love running around and Maya has a very distinctive miouw so you may hear them occasionally!

Lastly we have chickens – Mae West, Gwendolyn, Mrytle, Camilla, Mama and her baby (our cockerel) Poussin. They live in the orchard and love meeting visitors – especially ones with food treats.
